Convert several bank statements to one Excel file

Year-end bookkeeping often means twelve monthly PDFs. Converting them one by one and pasting the results together is where rows get lost or duplicated.

Convert in batches

Convert a few statements at a time and keep the source file and page for every row. StatementNest accepts up to five PDFs per batch.

Combine and check for gaps

Put all rows in one sheet, sort by date, and add a column with the statement month. Each statement's closing balance should equal the next statement's opening balance. A mismatch means a missing page or month.

Fictional example, not a real bank statement

Jan1,000.001,240.001,240.00Yes
Feb1,240.001,190.501,205.50No: check Feb

Remove duplicates carefully

Two identical rows are not always a duplicate: two coffees on the same day are real. Only remove a row when the same transaction appears in two overlapping statements, and confirm it against the PDF.
